Meet Act.land’s Writers! We’re Very Proud!

As founder and editor in chief of act.land, I’m proud to be working with these writers,  I wanted you to get to know them a little bit better because, hopefully, you’ll be a regular here.

A close up of writer Lonita Cook. She is a lovely African-American woman with great hair and a mischievious smile!

Lonita Cook is a BetterKC Film Critic (KCTV5), and the author of the paranormal romance novel, The Chronicles of Cyn: Awaken the Sleeper.  Aside from her writing career, Lonita is an actress and voiceover artist.  See more of her work at Lonita Cook’s reel.

A picture of writer Doug Messel. He has a round face with a hint of a smile and a light goatee. He wears black horned rimmed glasses in this black and white photo.

Doug Messel writes about subjects as varied as pop culture and politics. His work has appeared in MEL Magazine and Evansville News4U. When not writing, he’s thinking about all the ways to avoid writing. Usually by watching the worst movies of the 1980’s.  Doug is also the author of In Between Days https://douglasjfresh.com, a story about a young man in his last year of college and the inevitable changes he’s trying to avoid.

Eliza Gale began her blogging career on the Los Angeles based site Curvewire.com where she interviewed Angelinos about their jobs and their dreams.  Eliza’s fascination with other people’s  lives continued with her website Eliza Gale’s Interviews  where she interviews all kinds of artists about why they do what they do.

The undisputed king of “hey, that’s the actor from _______”.   Kevin Fuller makes good use of parenting downtime to absorb non-cable TV and movies and turning them into opinions he present as facts.  We like him anyway.  When not writing, he works with his brother Steven at their marketing firm, Fuller Creative, building websites and generally solving problems.

Actor, filmmaker Jason Turner sits in an outside setting with trees in the background. He is wearing a white shirt and grey vest His black hair is combed back and his dark eyes penitrate the camera.

Jason Turner is a creative auteur from Kansas City. He is an actor, director, writer, producer, and published comic book author.  He is the filmmaker behind the Iron Detective series.  The third short film in the series is currently in pre-production.
